Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that would otherwise die and be removed.

Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. To save the tooth, the infected pulp in your tooth’s canal is removed. The inside of your tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected then filled and sealed with medicated dental materials. The tooth is restored with a permanent filling and a crown over it.

Root Canal Treatment is highly successful and, usually, lasts a lifetime. Although on rare occasions, a tooth may have to be retreated due to a new infection.
